Packaging Tips:
DO double box all fragile items including electronics. Remember they must be able to sustain a fall of 6 ft on the conveyor belt systems & claims adjusters require professional packaging to cover damaged items.
DO remove printer ink cartridges before shipping printers etc..
DO include a label on the inside of the package with both the destination address and your package return address.
DO take batteries out of toys, electronics, etc., before shipping.
DO ship wrapped presents ahead to your destination, especially if traveling by air.
DON’T ship alcohol, wine or beer as it is prohibited
DON’T use alcohol, wine or beer boxes for shipping
DON'T wrap boxes in brown paper or tie with string.
DON'T use materials like newspaper or tissue to package items.
DON'T use old boxes or gift boxes for shipping.
DON'T use duct tape, masking tape, or cellophane tape to seal your boxes
Custom Packaging
Large or odd-shaped items often require specialized packaging. The Mailbox can build a custom box for you should your item be of unusual size or shape.
For maximum protection of antiques, fragile items and odd-sized pieces, we may recommend custom crating. We’ll securely protect each item and insert proper cushioning to prevent damage or shifting during shipment. Then we build a custom crate around it. Call us to inquire about our freight services.
